OneInfinity, OneDegree’s commercial insurance arm, has partnered with HashKey Exchange to explore commercial and financial uses for HKDAP, a regulated Hong Kong dollar-backed stablecoin.
OneInfinity and HashKey Exchange previously worked together to provide insurance coverage for virtual assets held by HashKey users. The new partnership extends that work into stablecoin applications.
HashKey Exchange has become a major authorised distributor of HKDAP. Under the partnership, it will provide eligible users with compliant services to convert between HKDAP and fiat currencies.
Building on the operational needs of AIFT Group, the parent company of OneDegree, the partners will explore two areas: selected cross-border business payments and settlements, and the use of HKDAP for commercial insurance premium payments in Hong Kong. HashKey MENA can support conversions between HKDAP, US dollars and UAE dirhams, helping connect Hong Kong-based insurance payments with business transactions involving the Middle East.
OneInfinity will bring its digital-asset insurance and risk management experience to the partnership, with an initial focus on exploring how HKDAP could be used for commercial insurance premium payments. The partnership will also consider how security, regulatory compliance and effective risk management can support the practical use of regulated digital assets.
Haiyang Ru, CEO of HashKey Exchange BG, said, “We are delighted to join forces with OneDegree to explore potential applications for HKDAP in commercial insurance payments, cross-border settlements, and other scenarios. Backed by HashKey Exchange’s liquidity assurance and compliant exchange capabilities, both companies will continue to enrich the real-world use cases for HKD stablecoins and enhance the circulation efficiency of digital assets.”
